Kian McMahon-Brown signs for Shrewsbury Town on loan.

The Ireland underage start will return to Burnley at the end of the season.

Kian McMahon-Brown is set for his first taste of senior football after joining Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan from Burnley.

The Ireland underage international put pen to a new deal at Turf Moor earlier this summer, and the Clarets have now sanctioned a move to League Two so the young attacker can start racking up men's football minutes.

McMahon-Brown has been among the standout performers in Ireland's underage ranks over the last couple of years, and his form was rewarded with a run in Burnley's first-team squad during pre-season.

He offers plenty of tactical flexibility too. Comfortable leading the line as an out-and-out No.9, he can just as easily play as a false nine or a No.10, and he has the game to drop into midfield when a side needs it.

A regular senior environment looks like exactly the right move at this stage of his development, giving him a proper platform to prove what he's capable of.
